About Phi Sigma Rho

Phi Sigma Rho crest

Phi Sigma Rho was first established in 1984 at Purdue University to provide a social community for women in engineering and engineering technologies to foster lifelong friendship, scholarship, and encouragement. The mission of the sorority is to support women and non-binary people in STEM through their collegiate careers. The Beta Alpha Chapter was chartered on April 23, 2023 and is dedicated to consistent development of the Phi Sigma Rho sisterhood at the University of Alabama. Our chapter motto “Re-engineering sisterhood” signifies the goal of our sorority to maintain a healthy balance between rigorous academics and sisterhood. Our vision is to create an environment where lifelong friendships are formed, academic excellence is celebrated, and every member is uplifted during their time in Phi Sigma Rho.
